For the last few days we have stayed at the Dinomsom Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand. We found this to be an excellent budget hotel for travelers looking for good value for their money.
The hotel is located 10 minutes from Khaosan Road and about 15 minutes from Sam Yot MRT station, which connects you to the rest of Bangkok.
A budget hotel in Bangkok with a pool & breakfast buffet
The hotel comes with a nice, but cold pool, as well as some sun beds and chairs. as you pass the pool you can see the restaurant & bar, where the buffet breakfast is served. While not the most extravagant breakfast, this budget hotel offers some great hot & cold dishes like pancakes, omelettes & different meats.
There are also a variety of spreads for bread. However, yoghurt and fresh fruit were our favorites. Coffee and juice is also available.
The hotel rooms
We stayed in a twin bed room on the ground floor. We did not have any noise issues from outside, as the hotel is nicely tucket away in an alley. However there is some noise late at night, as the beer happy tourists returning from Khao San Road, also need their beauty sleep (usually around 2-3 AM).
The hotel rooms were clean, and offered modern amenities. The internet was pretty weak though. So I recommend bringing your own data.
There is a makeshift safe in the form of a drawer with a key, and some closet space.
Outside, on the ground floor, we had a nice little garden with a table and a chair, with almost full privacy.
The beds were very comfortable considering this is a $40 budget hotel in Bangkok. We felt very comfortable here.
The bathroom is western style with a shower curtain separating the shower from the rest of the toilet. There is good water pressure, and everything was clean here too. Remember to not flush the TP though.
Hotel Location
All around this budget hotel, there are restaurants, 7 Elevens, as well as a few pharmacies. and the Grand Palace is only a few minutes walk away!
About 10 minutes up the street you can find the famous Khaosan Road, where all the backpackers congregate. There are tons of food and drink options around there, as well as all the nightlife in Bangkok you will ever need.
In the other direction, after walking for about 15 minutes you reach the Sam Yot MRT station, Bangkoks Metro System, which connects you to the rest of Bangkok.
Conclusion
If you are looking for a great budget hotel option in Bangkok, near Khao San Road & the public transport system, I can recommend this hotel.
The main drawback like mentioned above is the WiFi, and the noise around 2-3 AM at night.
The staff are friendly, and the hotel is clean and comfortable. A great deal for what you are paying.
